Juliana Maurer is a multidisciplinary artist and designer engaged in exploring unconventional visual aesthetics by experimenting with different materials melting the digital with the analogue world. If this quest for the unknown and the unexpected leads to clashes of structures that are seemingly incompatible, she is only further inspired, for every such challenge may evoke new sources of aesthetics and excitingly unconventional design perspectives. She combs her surroundings, observing contemporary culture, the natural environment and everyday life to find surprising contexts between surface, materiality and shape. Her work reaches from graphic design, object design, material research to ceramic sculpture and spacial installations.
