I have over 20 years experience as a Creative Shoot Producer, Photo Director, and Picture Editor for commercial clients and editorial. The last 10 years at creative agency SHOW Media, where I headed the production department as Photo Director/ Creative Shoot Producer. I am confident at managing end to end shoot production, producing stills and film for print, online, apps and social platforms. I am experienced working on multiple projects at once, each with their own set of deliverable requirements. I consider myself to be highly organised, a forward-thinker, and with an eye for detail.
• COMMISSIONING – Commissioning a full creative team. Confident at finding the right photographer to fit the brief, matching their skills to the proposed project to ensure the highest level of talent. Building relationships and keeping up to date with new talent.
• SHOOT PRODUCTION – Sourcing studio/locations, prop hire, permits, catering, as well as organising logistics such as travel and hotels. On-set production to ensure a smooth-running shoot day. Confidently managing and directing full team and ensuring clear communication with clients.
• MANAGING BUDGETS / ACCOUNTS – Experienced in managing all aspects of shoot budgets. Negotiating the best rates so costings are met or come in under where possible.
• NEGOTIATING RIGHTS – Experienced in negotiating rights and usage for brands to ensure both the client and photographer/ model get a fair rate.
• MODEL CASTING – Good relationships with the key model agencies to ensure the best model is cast for the brief.
• ORGANISATION – Resourceful, adaptable, and stay calm under pressure. Meticulous organisation and planning skills. Clear communication. A problem solver, self-motivated and eager to learn new skills.
• MOOD BOARDS / CREATIVE – Research and curate images to pitch and define ideas. Working closely with both clients and Art Directors to ensure the creative treatment is on brand and understood by all parties prior to the shoot.
• PICTURE RESEARCH - Extensive knowledge of picture libraries. Understanding the different clearance and approval processes involved and able to source and clear images quickly within budget.
• PRODUCTION / MARK-UPS - Extensive experience sending print-based publications to repro. Overseeing retouching. Ensuring full team credits.
• MANAGING A TEAM – Previously managed Deputies and Freelancers. Being responsible for individual development and appraisals. Experience in recruiting and interviewing. Overseeing workload and delegation and ensuring all projects are completed as briefed.
