Karyna Aslanova is a Kyiv-born Ukrainian multimedia artist, director, and photographer.
Karyna studied Theatre Directing at The National Academy of Government Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts, Kyiv, Ukraine and although photography is her principle medium, Karyna also uses video, painting and illustration, and poetry to further her exploration a multitude of subjects.
Karyna describes her photography as atmospheric, moody, emotional, explorative, and conceptual.

Theater director, mass shows, and show programsThe National Academy of Government Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts

The main program of my studies included such areas as theatre directing, acting, organizing and curating events and celebrations, screenwriting/playwriting, and the history of cinema and theatre, amongst other things. Practical exercises mainly consisted of creating scripts or plays (or working with existing ones), and staging and translating the scriptwriters/playwright's ideas and vision. Most often these were short sketches (5-20 minutes) in which I acted either as a director or as an actor for my classmates. In addition to my formal training, I continued to create short art-videos and get involved in other projects of this kind, as well as practice make-up and costume design.
