In 2015 after returning from a semester at Monash University, Australia, I rejoined the John Lewis partnership under the new role of a sales assistant in the Beauty department which was a role that consisted of working on the shop floor and having good knowledge of the products available. This role ultimately led to improved sales skills and communication skills.
In addition to working in John Lewis, and studying at university, I also worked part time in the Fat Face clothing store. In doing so I had to be able to manage my time efficiently and my organisational skills had to be to the highest standard. As a result I am capable of working in a fast paced environment and I am adept at meeting tight deadlines.
I worked as a sales assistant in the service and payment department until 2014. This entailed working on the tills and working directly with customers from day to day. I worked as a member of a team as well as in the overall partnership. As a co-owner in the John Lewis partnership I was able to have a say in the business, this encouraged me to have a responsibility in supplying the best customer service possible.
I carried out work experience with the design team at Birmingham City Council where I was set a live project to do. This included meetings with clients which developed my communication skills.
