I trained at East 15 Acting School. On leaving drama school I made my west-end debut as one of the female leads in a musical based in the 1950’s “Recipe for a Perfect Wife” at The Charing Cross Theatre. This was closely followed by roles at The Battersea Arts Centre that include; Kleopatra Maximova in “Dying For It” and Lady Macbeth in “Macbeth”. I also toured with various Musicals; in Italy (Rizzo, Grease, Lengua Senza Frontiere) and in Wales (Vestra, Sleeping Beauty, The Panto Company). I have been focusing on my music career for the last 7 years but I am now moving back into the acting side of the business and I have been very busy since last year with a variety of roles. Last year I played the female lead in Keeaun Jones’s latest short “Surveillance”. I was recently cast as Portia in Shakespeare's the "Merchant of Venice" for an audiobook series with RBM Productions and in November last year I combined my acting and music skills and played Bob Dylan in a “Sold Out” series of live shows. “A change of pace ensues when Ethan Loftus and Kate Thomas take to the stage as Lenny and Ange, the two achingly working-class terrors from Doug Lucie’s Progress. In a difficult scene, both performers bring their characters to life emotionally, creating a palpable tension during their short time on stage.” (The Stage) “The Priory by Michael Wynne provides wonderful casting for Frankie Meredith and Kate Thomas as Laura and Kate. Meredith imbibes Laura with a wide-eyed, innocent quality that juxtaposes beautifully with Thomas’s well-judged, insecure Kate.” (The Stage)

I have been a professional singer for over 10 years my humble beginnings were in Opera and I am known for my work in jazz, folk and world music. My career as a singer-songwriter is also very similar so if fiery Latin guitarras, wild gypsy rhythms, smoky jazz ballads and acoustic folk arpeggiations are your bag then this is the sound for you. I regularly play at the established jazz, fusion and roots venues in and around London such as: Grow, Green Note, Bulls Head Jazz Club, Toulouse Lautrec and I even supported The London Gypsy Orchestra at Acklam Village last year. "One of the most entertaining and engaging shows I have ever experienced ... Kate’s phenomenal charisma and encouragement of audience interaction created an electric atmosphere ... an exceptionally talented performer; the audience singing along, dancing and rewarding every song with rapturous appreciation ... such a superb talent ... She is certainly one to watch and an artist we hope to work with again in the near future." ARTHOUSE Music I released my debut EP "The Lion's Raw" back in 2017 "Sultry dame"- ALL ABOUT JAZZ "Where the energy of rock blends in with the intimacy of folk" - A&R FACTORY "Will make you want to watch Chocolat again." - FREQUENCY 21 "Kate Thomas you certainly have a style of your own" - MEL WATSON, PHOENIX FM And in January this year I released a smoky jazz ballad with Howl from the Embers called "How Did I Get Back Here Again" this heart-breaking ballad not only received positive reviews across the board but also had plenty of radio airplay particularly from established jazz stations such as Jazz FM, London Jazz and Jazz UK.
