Awards
India Craft Cluster Study Trip WINNER
I had the opportunity to travel to remote artisan villages and work closely with master craftsmen; including tidying, block printing and embroidery. I was selected along with 6 other students to travel Rajasthan and Delhi in India to visit artisans, source materials and look at contemporary Indian design. The aim of the trip was to learn of the traditional textile crafts of India and gain inspiration from local artisans by working with craft clusters to develop new skills. I also had the opportunity to source Rajasthani markets for unique materials and experience the colour and vitality of India. On return I was asked to speak about the cultural trip at an installation put together to share our experiences with other students and staff.
