Projects
  • Honest History - Issue 11 - Journey Through the Jungle
Honest History - Issue 11 - Journey Through the JungleI was luckily enough to be able to work for Honest History again last year. This is one of my favourite projects I've done so far. I was commissioned to create five illustrations depicting different tools archeologists use. It was really challenging because I had to make sure it was as accurate as possible, and it was tight turn around too. The editor was really helpful with providing enough information for me to get the job done.
  • Honest History Magazine - Issue Four - Story of an Empire
Honest History Magazine - Issue Four - Story of an EmpireIn 2019 I worked with Honest History Magazine for their issue on Ancient Rome. I created 7 spot illustrations and a colouring page. It was an interesting project because I did my first ever colouring page. One of my favourite illustrations from this project was the surgical tools!
  • Scoop Magazine - Issue Sixteen - The Human Body Issue
Scoop Magazine - Issue Sixteen - The Human Body IssueI got the chance to work with Scoop magazine back in 2018 just after I graduated. I was commissioned to create 5 spot illustrations for an article about women through history. I was super excited about this project because not only was the subject something I loved, the article was also wrote by my favourite historians Lucy Worsley.

I actively promote myself through social media, reaching out to potential clients. My illustration work is influenced by history and inspirational people and my love of books. I work collaboratively and have strong communication skills when working with clients, to achieve the work they commission. I am time focused, organised and work well under pressure. Working remotely has given me the freedom to use my time wisely. When not working on projects I use my time to experiment and develop my work further, for example, redesigning book covers.

I volunteered to typeset for the Publishing Post so I could improve and develop my InDesign skills. I can work confidently with InDesign using the company’s style guide to produce a cohesive spread. The deadlines are short, so I manage my time well. I use Slack, the business communication platform to keep in contact with the team if there are any issues or problems.
