About me
I am a motivated and creative individual who graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a First Class Honours degree in Fashion and Textiles Design in 2019. My collection won the Sportswear and Leisurewear Award sponsored by Tessuti as well as being shortlisted for the Accessories award sponsored by YKK at London Graduate Fashion Week.     Meet The GFW19 Winners: Katherine-Jayne WattsKatherine-Jayne Watts was the winner of the Sportswear and Leisurewear award sponsored by Tessuti at GFW19. Her menswear collection, inspired by the old nautical charts of the Blackwater Estuary her grandad used to navigate the network of salt marshes and mudflats.     A 3 year course with units including advanced skills in both fashion and textiles. Research, development, completion, enterprise and skills. Workshops in Shingo Sato Pattern Cutting, Julian Roberts Subtraction Cutting and been involved in Fashion Revolution Week. In May 2017 to November 2017, I took part in the UK-China Arts Exchange with Wuhan Textiles University China and the British Arts Council. Involved in an innovative project, ‘What We Wear Is Who We Are’. Two week visit to Wuhan University in November 2017 and our collaborative artwork was exhibited at The New World China Land Limited Art Centre in Wuhan. Skills: communication, teamwork, pattern cutting, sewing, presentational skills, laser cutting.
