I love creative problem solving. I hate selling myself, so here is a quick summary of who I am and what I do…
I am passionate about design and the creative process and am driven to find better ways to do things to achieve long term business success, both meaningfully and sustainably.
Having designed knitwear for over 15 years, I have a thorough technical knowledge of design and production methods and fully exploit this for creative and commercial purposes. I also use it to support others in setting up their own knitwear brands, through my design consultancy work.
Now you may be thinking it’s all about knitwear but check out my other skills and experience, for I have a few more strings to my bow.
My role as Concept Leader with Uniqlo Group honed my multi-product design, and people-management skills and made me highly analytical and organised. While being self employed, I took the opportunity to teach and discovered a natural strength for mentoring and excellent verbal communication skills which I aim to integrate into my future endeavours.
Above all, the skills I use the most are empathy; which I use to interpret clients needs and an infectious enthusiasm for colour, print and textiles which I use to inspire others and design meaningful product.
Also, I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’d do this work for free. It’s my purpose
