About me
I am a creative professional with experience in Interior Design, Construction and Project and Program Management. I similarly have skills and experience in PR, Marketing, Social Media and Creative Communications. Having graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BAHons in English, I have since gone on to complete a Higher National Certificate in Interior Design, as well as a Fundamentals course in Project Management. My most recent experience is working alongside the Department of Education and a government funded trust to carry out large scale projects from conception to installation in schools. Aiming to improve the learning environments in the UK's Poorest Post Codes, I have been working with a variety of consultants, contractors, architects and designers to implement large-scale projects across 13 nation-wide sites. This has given me a varied and dense insight into the design and construction process, where I have gone onto lead my own projects such as the internal fit out a Theatre, Dining Hall and Reception, school toilets, offices and common rooms. I have similarly helped to manage a PSBP2 (Priority School Building Project 2) under the EFA where I managed asset, finance models and funding streamlines . I take great interest in Health and Wellbeing, completing a Level 3 Qualification in Nutrition Science in my spare time and regularly look into new research. I am also passionate about environmental sustainability and conservation. Beyond work, I enjoy socialising and I am a part of a Woman's Networking group called Congress Woman. We regularly meet to discuss topics of importance and to help each other with our personal and career development. In early 2020 I volunteered in Malawi, Africa carrying out community development. I also worked for NHS 111 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

    · I have successfully lead and assisted large scale projects from conception to installation to deliver unique spaces across 13 schools nationwide. This was while working with a Government Funded Trust, as well as the Department of Education and large design firms. · I was an integral part of every stage of projects, from the original bid, to conception, procurement, design proposal, contractor selection, on-site delivery, client handover and snagging. · Regular site visits, working alongside Operation Managers to conduct surveys and appraisals with various consultants, such as structural engineers, building control, interior designers and architects. · Using various programme management templates and software to organise projects running concurrently. Regular use of cost breakdown schedules, GANTT charts and spreadsheets while effectively documenting all forms of communication, correspondence, quotations, invoices, report lists, drawings etc. · I provided interface between the Trust, the schools and outsourced contractors and consultants. Full exposure and involvement with RIBA stages and design processes as a result. · I chaired various meetings, often proposing design ideas, consulting the client (schools) or holding pre and post construction meetings to discuss and manage processes and communication. Taking note of action points and communicating these post-meeting. · Snagging, negotiating contracts and invoices and finally client handover.
