About me
Katie Burdon is a 22 year old British photographer currently based in London. Hailing from Cornwall UK, Katie’s work explores and celebrates the natural form and human body through focus on the female gaze. Through juxtaposition of colour and storytelling with surreal undertones, she aims to bring curiosity and observance to her vision. Katie aims to challenge fashion’s obsession with perfection, or rather, what is perceived as perfect within the industry. Publications include Vogue Italia, Wonderland, Rollacoaster and British Journal Of Photography.

  • Naked VS Nude
Naked VS NudeA series in which I explore the difference between Naked and Nude. Naked vs Nude aims to normalise the female form, rejecting ‘nude photography’ and the complex power dynamics that take place - nude meaning that the subject becomes a projection of the photographer as they are instructed how to pose, listen, talk and think during the photo taking session. • Perception Of Space X Coeval
Perception Of Space X CoevalA surrealist stills and video piece for Coeval Magazine. The distortion of normality is captured through a study of surrealism that explores the embrace of irrelevance and what is illogical. Absurdity is celebrated in this homage to Dorothea Tanning’s Hôtel du Pavot, Chambre 202. The domestic room is reconfigured to create a sense of comfort, the banal qualities suggest normality whilst perception is challenged to throw the viewer off into a surreal world. The body weaves through the environmen
  • Two Figures In A Room X Vogue Italia
Two Figures In A Room X Vogue ItaliaFor Vogue Italia , Two Figures In A Room is a study of lover’s intimate moments within their bedrooms. A bedroom is a deeply personal sanctuary for each of us that distorts into different purposes alongside our emotions - we sleep there, we cry there, we feel most lonely there, we fuck there, we dream there, we tell secrets there. Two Figures In A Room presents two lovers - their bodies are different, but together they could almost be one figure. Together their bodies turn into a beautiful mess
