I'm Katie, aspiring advertising creative. Having recently graduated on The Roll of Honour with a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Advertising, I am more than equipped to tackle a variety of creative tasks, as well as strategic and planning roles. Some facts: • Aspiring art director • Illustrator advocate • J'aime croire que je peux parler Francais. Utile? Back to reality (read an English-speaking office) - who says we can't glisser some French into office chat? I want to know everything there is to know about everything. I try to learn something new every day, big or small - trivial or otherwise. If you haven't already, do have a look at some of my work. If you're interested in working with me, please get in contact and I'll be sure to see how I can help. I look forward to hearing from you.Locked Pro Plan feature
After repeated success during my internship with the company, I was immediately offered a full time position and took up the role alongside my studies and continue the role at present. I am regularly briefed with new projects and have developed my experience in branding, social, digital and print materials (flyers, brochures and posters).
When the I was offered an extension on the originally-one-week placement, I eagerly accepted. The client-side healthcare agency was certainly an unusual setting to adapt to, and I found myself somewhat out of my depth amongst the experienced team. I did push to make the most of the opportunity and prove myself - and my work - to the agency and completed scamps for two complete campaigns during my time there. The short, two-week placement offered me insight into the copywriting side of creative. I certainly found the switch from a more design-centric course to copywriting quite difficult and certainly need more experience in this area - something I am keen to seek. I came to realise the challenges of writing copy in a busy agency that catered solely for the totally-alien healthcare industry and am keen to build on this experience. Ultimately, however, my time at Havas made me certain of my love of design and made me more eager for a career in art direction.
Nearing the release of his debut single Bloom; I was approached by Ali Horn's label about designing a sleeve for the track after being put forward by my programme leader following success in my studies. Ultimately, the content has been used in print for the physical release, as well as digital for its digital release and use on streaming and storage platforms. I must add that the client was thrilled with the outcome and hails the sleeve as the best they've seen since opening. https://open.spotify.com/album/6C0tUANBdzsRWOL7mLR2sM?si=TaecbmtER3OsX0X4F52VtQ

Templates developed to adapt for post-launch use by other designers to adhere to.
Planning and design of visual assets to deliver client message and launch social campaign for the upcoming Freshers events to be held by Flex Events in the 2017/18 academic year.
Focusing on the creativity of advertising and design, the programme taught me to devise concepts for, plan strategies for and create visuals for campaigns. It offered insight into all stages of campaign development with a heavy focus on graphic design and creative execution. Deliverables ranged from print and digital to interactive social and guerrilla and I prided - and continue to pride - myself on the quality of responses to such requests. I consider my success on the course to be a result - in part - of its focus on design, an area in which I have been able to develop my skills and finally admit to being a perfectionist: I am compelled to stick with perhaps-difficult creative problems until my absolute best outcome is achieved. Despite not immediately focusing on copywriting, the course has touched upon the field and allowed me to develop an interest in it, hence my final year independent research project: 'Is three words enough? An investigation into the ideal copy length to engage Generation Z.' As such, while writing copy may not be my current area of expertise, it is certainly something I can and do appreciate, and am hungry to learn more about in future.
