Katie Henry is the Director of Art In Offices, which she started in 2012. She studied Fine Art Sculpture at Central Saint Martins, and was then Vice President of Students’ Union University of the Arts London. She also has a Masters in Arts Administration and Management from Birkbeck College, University of London.
I have spent the past few years challenging the perception that only FTSE 100 companies can afford art, and I have made it my mission to encourage small and medium sized companies to put original art on their office walls by making it affordable. I have also worked with the growing co working sector and have many connections with interior designers, architects, property developers and landlords.
I work closely with a select handful of emerging and established artists in my day to day business, but I also work with print makers, print studios, art fairs such as The Other Art Fair and Art Basel, and have a black book full of other artists that include emerging artists with progressing careers and investment artists. I have a great eye for spotting emerging talent and have worked with artists who have gone on to win art prizes and have solo shows at museums.
I am well known amongst galleries who work with and nurture emerging artists, particularly in London; but through the Association of women Art Dealers I also have links to galleries in New York, LA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Columbia, Africa and Europe.
My key skill is networking. I am what is called a super connector and I know a huge amount of people from many different sectors. My phone includes the numbers and emails for the head of blue chips galleries, directors of auction houses, luxury residential developers, UHNW investors, family offices, artists, actors, developers, office managers and gallery owners.
I am a champion of female talent and 90% of my network is women, who I support, nurture and connect.
