Whilst working at CSM I created key relationships within the company and in turn started volunteering to work onsite at our events. This process then lead to my Account Executive role. Within this role I have worked with different brands such as Lidl, HSBC Rugby Sevens Series, Formula E and School Games but predominately within delivering the rights of the HSBC UK and British Cycling partnership. The main aspect of this account is the planning and delivery of their HSBC UK City Ride Series: • HSBC UK City Ride 2017 – www.letsride.co.uk/city-ride o I worked across the planning and delivery HSBC UK City Rides which are fourteen mass participation, family orientated, cycling events which took place every weekend in fourteen different cities across the UK. o I generated all activation ideas from creative sessions and pitched all finalised ideas to British Cycling. British Cycling signed off these ideas in the meeting as they responded to their brief so well. o I worked onsite in different cities around the UK throughout the summer running and managing all British Cycling activations, groups of volunteers and HSBC and British Cycling employees. o I built relationships with several suppliers that attended all fourteen of our events with us. Managing their schedules, invoicing and payment and onsite management. o I took on an event lead role at our Bristol leg of the HSBC UK City Ride series. This involved organising my internal team, pre-event communications with clients, all suppliers and all other pre-event activity. I then lead the event whilst onsite by being client liaison and managing all communications throughout the day ensuring the event run smoothly. The event had 5,500 public participants attend. I have written an opinion piece based on the work I have completed throughout the last year, it can be found here - www.csm.com/news-views/helping-to-get-britain-moving-the-impact-of-mass • New business – throughout my time as Account Executive I have coordinated and contributed to several new business pitches. This included organisation of large groups of employees from many of our worldwide offices and ensuring all deadlines are met. This has been an interest of mine due to the amount of creativity and practicality used to ensure a creative and all- encompassing campaign hits the clients brief to ensure a pitch win. I have gained skills in public speaking, creative thinking and planning, organisation, execution and client liaising within working in the new business section of our company.
After working on reception for 7 months I was asked to manage front of house. Front of house executive – • the go-to person for everything ‘support’ focused in our business. Therefore, I am the first escalation point for all front of house and back of office queries. • Internal event management - Alongside my front of house duties I am also helping with event management. I ensure that the internal space works seamlessly, coordinating activities, group meetings and the external events calendar. • Back of house duties which included; lead on fire procedures, first aiders, work station & risk assessments, ensure the office complies with all statutory and non-statutory building tests/maintenance. • Managing a team - With this role I manage our reception and cleaning team, this has been the most interesting part of the role as I have had to learn how to manage a team.
A few of my roles and responsibilities as a host included: • Telephone communications • Organisation of all meeting spaces • Ordering and maintaining the company’s stationary requirements and all meeting room and kitchen supplies • Customer/ client services – meet and greet as all guests entered the office Through working on reception at CSM I have built a good relationship with several members of the agencies. In June I helped Fast Track deliver their Wimbledon campaign for HSBC by helping with the distribution of merchandise at the HSBC headquarters in London. Following this Fast Track asked me to help again on another campaign, School Games. This required me attending the event at Loughborough University for the weekend, capturing as much content and information for several social media platforms which in turn meant I gained digital marketing knowledge.
