As the digital audience and content editor I am responsible for the Dorset Echo website and making sure we are hitting our daily and monthly targets. I ensure that all stories have an appropriate headline and am responsible for coming up with interesting web-only content.
Alongside these responsibilities I also occasionally run the news desk on my own, which means managing a team and putting the newspaper together, while looking after the web.

As a reporter I was responsible for sourcing stories, responding to breaking news and covering cases in court and council meetings. I covered a range of issues and topics and passed my NQJ senior qualification in April of this year.
I would be required to file two to three lead stories an average day, depending on whether I had to respond to an incident or was putting together a more in depth piece of work.
