Hello! I’m Katy and I'm currently a Online Marketing Manager, Paid Advertising Expert, Social Media Wiz and Entrepreneur. I am passionate about fashion, art, design, analysis and marketing. Over the past 1.5 years I have set up an online fashion business and curated an art, design and fashion Instagram with a following of over 39,000 Instagram followers. Throughout this project I have been in charge of everything from designing the garments and sourcing suppliers to all the online and offline marketing of the products. Alongside this project I work full time as a Online Marketing Manager for a Digital Marketing Agency. The past 7 years of my career have enabled me to use my skill set to prosper in the marketing profession, mastering new trades and quickly learning from others more experienced in their field. I have mastered skills in Online Marketing Strategy, Paid Advertising (PPC), E Commerce, Social Media Strategy, Content Development, Email Marketing, Print Marketing, Management, PR and Events Marketing. I have worked on the agency side for a Portfolio of high end E Commerce clients, as well as at a large media company for luxury, design, political and cultural B2B and B2C brands. This is a side project I do in my spare time along side my full time marketing role. I initially started an Instagram account for stuffwithprints in 2017 to combine my skills in marketing with my passion for fashion art and marketing. Over the past year and a half it has grown from a creative inspiration account to a successful and profitable fashion boutique. We now have 39,000 followers on Social Media, over 5,000 #stuffwithprints hashtags, re-grams from some of the top fashion influencers, we have sold over 500 products within a 1 year time frame and we have an Asos.marketplace boutique and a Tictail Boutique. Within this project I am responsible for everything except for the manufacturing of the garments.
I am responsible for the Digital Marketing Strategy and Paid Advertising Management for a portfolio of 13 large, high end clients. I build, manage and optimise their Google AdWords, Social Media and Websites/E Commerce platforms by create effective campaigns that deliver results. In this client facing role it is essential that I can build and maintain relationships whilst delivering a monthly increase in conversions and managing expectations. I believe it is my charismatic and and highly analytical nature which has enabled me to prosper in this role, building strong client relationships and making progressive business decisions based on analysis and statistics.
I started working at PMI primarily for the New Statesman but my role soon evolved to looking after five other publications in addition, Spears Wealth Management, Press Gazette, Blueprint, FX and The World Of Fine Wine. Here I was responsible for increasing subscription sales through retention and acquisition of paid subscriptions as well as growing controlled circulation registrations. Within this role I managed a marketing intern and two marketing executives. Working at the forefront of the marketing team I was responsible for boosting the brands profiles by exposing them to new audiences resulting in increased circulation and as a result business growth. As part of my role I looked after all marketing activity online and offline including Brand Strategy, Copy Writing, PPC, Analytic's, Social Media Strategy, Forecasting, Budgeting and Email Marketing. I created the content across the social media channels, e-marketing campaigns, print collateral and websites thus was required to think creatively and on my feet around the clock. Managing the social media profiles with a collective following of over 5 million, I had to identify new social media trends and create successful, engageable content every day. Within the 19 months I worked at PDM I set up over 15 partnerships to further expose and evolve the brands whilst building and maintaining relationships with key contacts in media. Throughout this role I have been instrumental in driving concepts for breakthrough projects which have resulted in increased profit margins and ROI.
Due to company growth I joined the team to help develop and sustain their digital profile as well as coordinate co-operate networking events. My marketing role was twofold; to brainstorm and implement innovative digital marketing concepts and to increase brand awareness through networking events.
A Direct Sales company which represented three key clients: LOVEFiLM, TalkTalk & Justgiving in business to business, business to consumer and events based direct sales and fundraising. Having proven that I could recruit, develop and manage a fundraising team at JMS Marketing in Sheffield, I was selected to open a Sales and Marketing office in Nottingham in April 2012. The company traded with PerDM Services who were responsible for providing the client and merchandise for the office, but I was responsible for teaching, training, growing and developing the team. I was directly in charge of all aspects of the business from PR on both traditional platforms and social media to recruitment, event organising, PPC & SEO, budgeting and finance, reporting results to the client and the day to day operations of the business. My key focus was brand exposure.
Modules of interest included business studies, media studies, cultural studies and art. My degree enhanced my creative flair whilst providing me with the technical abilities needed in media. It also gave me a well-rounded business understanding of the Media industry.
