About me
My name is Keisha Brodie and I am 19 years old. I would describe myself as a creative, organised and a hard-working individual. I have decided to take the internship route because I would love a career in marketing and I believe that it would provide me with the necessary experience, skills and qualities that I would need to take this progress.
I am an aspiring social media marketeer with extensive knowledge of the social media world and the variety of platform. From my familiarity with the features and algorithms of various social media networks I have the potential to create engaging posts that will reach a large audience and drive engagement. Additionally, my understanding of how people interact on social media and creative skills will help me in creating effective social media advertising campaigns which can be highly targeted and reach a specific audience.
Currently, I am a sales assistant at River Island and this is where I have picked up the majority of my skills that relate to marketing such as hitting targets and an introduction to email marketing. Prior to this, I have worked in a supermarket and as a bartender where I’ve picked up a lot of customer service skills which I can apply to marketing and now my goal is to be a social media manager, but to also experience different areas of digital marketing such as SEO or advertising for example.

I effectively implemented marketing strategies and tactics in order to drive sales and create a positive customer experience by:
• I helped drive email receipts and opt ins to e-newsletters from 11% to 25% by offering them as a form of email marketing. This resulted in more purchases as customers receive product information regularly, ultimately increasing revenue
• I communicated in store promotions and special offers as well as the features and benefits of products to customers effectively, this is due to me having outstanding product knowledge. As a result, conversion rates have increased
• I have been recognised by my managers on several occasions for closing major sales
• Handled credit/debit card and cash transactions through serving customers making purchases and I was trusted to assist with the cash reconciliation process at the end of the day, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
