As CRUK's Event Social Media Manager, I was responsible for social media strategy development and implementation for the charity's main mass-participation events, including Race for Life, Tough 10 and SlideRider. This activity covered participant acquisition and loyalty, brand advertising, at-event and live amplification, customer support and thanking, alongside everyday editorial.
My priorities on a day-to-day basis included managing a small team to create shareable and emotive content for our social channels, managing a large paid social budget, delivering excellent community management and customer service, integrating with our over-arching marketing and PR campaigns and experiential activity and collaborating with external agencies to develop digital builds. During my time in the role I also provided ongoing social media training for members of the team and launched a regional network of Twitter accounts with local event and marketing teams.
