About me
Specialising in Marketing and Media Planning Operations, I hold a senior role within the in-house Media Planning agency team at ITV. Prior to this, I gained experience as a Channel Operations Scheduler at a number of UK and international broadcasters. I am currently responsible for analysing large data sets of internal research to efficiently plan campaigns across the network’s multi-million pound value of owned media in both promotional and continuity airtime.

    I am presently working on ITV Main Channel, with responsibility for planning all owned media campaigns in promotional and continuity airtime, with a particular focus on peak. In my role, I devise multi-channel media plans as part of the wider rolling annual plan in close partnership with Marketing, and conduct in-depth data analysis using BARB data sets in Techedge and other sources at every stage of a campaign to ensure targets are met efficiently. I produce weekly reports monitoring campaign performance, and continually review the channel for changes to inventory and viewer trends. Using quantitative research, I take an in-depth look at the channel on a regular basis to understand who our viewers are. Where necessary, I liaise with the broadcast operations team to relocate airtime into areas of the schedule that index higher for a particular campaign, taking into account editorial and scheduling factors. I lead a team of three at an operational level, with responsibility for all broadcast and operational queries, and act as Duty Manager out of hours. I directly line manage one Assistant Media Planner, taking responsibility for their training, and both personal and professional development. My previous role in ITV’s Media Planning agency team included influencing the development of long-term owned media strategy for the UK’s biggest 16-34 channel, ITV2. Acting as operational lead for the channel, I scheduled all interstitial and secondary events. Working alongside the manager for the youth brand portfolio, I strategised the best ways to achieve optimal campaign reach and frequency, and devise key performance indicators for new and returning programming launches. I created documents for campaigns that I defined targets for, which I present at regular stakeholder meetings before starting on air activity and later use in post campaign analysis to find out what worked well and what could be improved on. I continually monitor campaign performance within Techedge using BARB data, to ensure weekly and quarterly network targets are being met. Working closely with channel managers to increase airtime efficiency, I moved airtime to areas of the schedule that index higher for target demographic. I worked in partnership with the on-air continuity announcers to ensure that the right messages are conveyed in a tone suitable for the channel, checking all scripts for factual accuracy. I had the responsibility for the management of complex, multi-stage, multi-platform campaigns within our bespoke media management system. Sole responsibility for the strategy of ITV Hub (VOD) promo planing across all 28 platforms and all 29 million registered users rested with me, with day to day administration of all promotions coming under my remit.
