I am a Graphic Designer & Illustrator based in Liverpool with a strong interest in design for print, typography, layout design and editorial design. I have a strong attention to detail and a keen eye for composition and colour profiling, with key skills in photography, digital design, book making and colour matching. I have a passion for creating visually exciting designs informed by strong concepts which I enjoy researching thoroughly. I am able to work confidently both independently and well within a team to deliver successful and engaging projects to tight deadlines and have experience working within high-volume, fast-paced customer service roles from working in the retail and hospitality industry. I am also fully proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Word and have excellent written and verbal skills which have been demonstrated through well received presentations.
Projects
- Fairground ArtExploring the history of the British fairground and the artwork which defines it, the publication celebrates the impact society and culture have had on the fairground and the impact the fairground has had on them. The book utilises a large number of images and a pullout centrefold to show the various styles, movements and motifs found in the designs and the culture that informed them through history.
- RSC Book CoversTasked with designing a new set of book covers for the Royal Shakespeare Company to re-engage a younger audience with Shakespeare, each of the stories have been simplified down into one basic element. The character interactions and themes have been abstracted to draw the audience in with intrigue and mystery, utilising a coded system that can be easily deciphered by fans of Shakespeare or provide a fun challenge for those new to his work.
- Etymology: ToponymyPublication detailing the meaning behind generic forms which appear frequently across place names in the UK and Ireland. The publication includes keys to highlight the geographic origins of the names and their linguistic root, as well as a risographed map highlighting key locations from the book.

While interning at Smiling Wolf I worked on various projects for multiple clients including Urban Splash, The Atkinson, Black Lodge and Liverpool Guild of Students. I gained a lot of experience within a studio environment, delivering live projects for clients to tight deadlines and developed skills in branding, designing within strict brand guidelines, liaising with clients and simultaneously working on multiple projects for different clients. As well as learning new skills in brand development and implementation, I was able to develop and improve my skills in typesetting, editorial and layout design and as an illustrator.

As a Graphic Designer my main skills and interests are in design for print, typography and layout design which are demonstrated in my self-driven projects. Some of these include a series of book covers for Shakespeare plays utilising colour and geometric shapes to re-engage a younger audience, a series of posterzines on the history and origin behind English swear words and a publication on the history of British fairground art which was entirely written, designed, edited, printed and bound by myself. Concept and attention to detail are extremely important to me and I also utilise colour a lot in my work as I believe it is very important and can often define a project and its success.
