Korana Celan was born in Split, Croatia; now based in the UK, she became a Londoner in 1998. After completion of her Fine Art & Applied Design studies in Croatia; Korana began working in Television and Film as a make-up artist and theatrical performer.
From 2004 to 2005, Korana lived in Pittsburgh, USA, as a restaurateur; these years were fundamental to the expansion of her artistic practice and deepened her understanding of Andy Warhol, son of the city. Her access to The Andy Warhol Museum which holds the largest collection of his artworks and archival materials aided her maturation from make-up artist to a visual artist
In the winter of 2016, Korana became a “damned artist” and moved to outskirts of London, taking the decision to build a studio – marrying her passion for illustration with fine art. Since embarking on this creative journey she has produced children’s book illustrations in the UK, Croatia and Italy, and exhibited artwork in galleries round London and in Rome.
Working across a spectrum of media; including digital, inks, acrylics, oils, screen printing, and photography – Korana creates work and pursues her artistic aspirations, inspiring her audience to further understand and interact with the visual world around them.
