Russian-born Kristina Varaksina has resided in the USA since 2010 and currently lives and works between New York and London. Commissions include: Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel , The Telegraph, Fabric, Bonobos, Ugg, Sally Hansen, Esika, Elyse Maguire, TID Watches, Cetaphil, Roam. She has taught photography at NYFA, New York and California Art Institute, San Francisco.   The Essence of BeautyThis project gives voice to women from different ethnic, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, each doing their best to not only accept themselves as who they are, but also to be proud of this.   My lockdown workLockdown has not been the easiest time for me as a portrait photographer, but it pushed me creatively and I've continued working on personal projects throughout the last couple of months. Pictures from this project were featured on BBC News and in the Best of Vogue Italia.
