I aim to continue being a well-rounded candidate, working in the creative industries while completing my degree. My practice has evolved enormously throughout my Foundation year, and as I begin to experiment with sculpture, installation and performance, I hope to continue developing a visual language of my own and artwork with a strong message. I create mostly around the idea of essential calmness and spirituality as well as a meditative approach to life largely promoted through craft and folklore, and how they wilt within us due to the constant rush and anxiety of the post-industrial society. I am also very interested in Russian culture, and therefore work around the essence of the Russian person and its relevance to modern day politics.
During the Foundation course, I developed an extensive body of artwork and expanded my practice from painting and photography into installation and sculpture. I worked collaboratively with a group of students and tutors to curate and invigilate our final show and fully clear and prime the studios.
I completed the full International Baccalaureate programme, including seven A-level equivalent subjects: Music at Higher Level; English at Higher Level; Economics at Higher Level; Standard Level Mathematics; Standard Level German Ab-Initio; Standard Level Environmental Systems and Societies; Theory of Knowledge.
