I am a professional journalist, magazine editor, presenter and broadcaster based in Manchester.
After graduating from the University of Leeds with a Broadcast Journalism degree, I have spent the last decade working in both digital and broadcast media (Daily Mirror, BBC and more).
For six years, I was the editor of online magazine Body Confidential, the sister publication to Manchester Confidential. We reached an audience of more than 300,000 people each month. With a focus on women and POC, I regularly interviewed various high profile celebrities and unsung heroes.
I'm also a TV and radio presenter; having hosted live shows for Selfridges, Topshop and Harvey Nichols.
Since going freelance, I've taken up a role as a freelance Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio Manchester, also featuring on their weekly program, The Dead Good Show. As of January this year, I write for online magazine Bustle UK as an entertainment reporter.
I also run monthly events in Manchester as a Bumble UK ambassador.
I'm looking for writing and presenting opportunities across women's digital magazines, TV and radio.
Projects
- Fighting Facebook Censorship For Mastectomy Surgery Photos"Why can't I share photos of my post-surgery nipples to Facebook?" Jay Walker underwent a preventative mastectomy and later posed in a lingerie calendar for the National Hereditary Cancer helpline. After sharing photos of her post-operation scars and nipples to Facebook, she was banned by the website. Today she continues to fight censorship. I directed and edited the digital video for Body Confidential.
