I enhanced my skills by moving onto a high-risk food safety department. I had to learn food safety and hygiene and apply these to the day to day running of the department whilst ensuring the six principles of food safety were adhered to at all times. Further elements of my role: Coordinate teams of colleagues in order to achieve the best results. Run the department in the absence of the Department Manager. Staff management. Product Availability/ Stock Management. Trained and served as a peer coach to new and existing colleagues, teaching the necessary skills to be an excellent member of the team. Organised scheduling and production planning for events and promotions, this resulted in a successful uplift in sales at busy times.
