About me
Bit of background. Laura launched her consultancy Chroma Marketing in 2018, and has since worked with over 100 SMEs and non-profits to help them build their marketing strategy. Laura launched this business while starting her final year at university, and working two part time jobs. The idea for Chroma came around when Laura, having worked in agencies and volunteered for companies like Kirkwood Hospice, Discover Huddersfield and Uniform Exchange, noticed that organisations weren’t getting a marketing strategy when seeking out support, but project deliverables such as a website that they didn’t then really know what to do with. That’s why Chroma Marketing’s primary function is a consultancy, because they’re there to help people truly understand what they’re doing, how to do it, and the impact it’s going to have. Aside from running the business, Laura is an avid traveller, reader and very much amateur cook. She’s visited over 23 countries so far, and is on track to tick off as many cities in the UK as possible by the time she’s 30 - currently sitting at 16/69.

We give SMEs the power of a large brand's voice. We do this by simplifying marketing, capturing stories and sculpting sustainable marketing strategies. When working with SMEs there are two routes they can go down depending on budget and how much support they need. The first is a traditional consulting model, where our purpose is to challenge their thinking, help them get creative with their ideas, and deliver any training/advice required to launch their plan. The second route is more hands-on from us - we become your marketing team, helping to deliver on the marketing strategy we help you build. Key areas of focus here tend to be social media, content for web, email marketing and events. In this role, I've worked with over 100 SMEs in the non-profit and private sector, alongside supporting young people make their way into the industry through mentoring and local college partnerships.

This role was part of my university placement. As the role was new to the company when I joined, I have worked with the directors in building a team, with whom I have worked in providing training modules and experiential learning to apply skills picked up. My main role is to form strategies with both clients to manage digital marketing channels, in coordination with web development, design creatives and more. I am utilising platforms appropriate for the client’s business tone (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, blogs) and nature to develop a growth based plan to meet their current and future aims. This is done in an evaluative manner, ensuring that any implementation is brought back to the aims and objectives, so as to ensure consistency and growth. Thus, the main objective of our work is to ensure that efficiency and effectiveness are met, alongside return on investment.
