About me
My combined degree in Film Studies and Modern Foreign Languages (BA Hons) at the University of Manchester kept my interests in both the arts and academia open. My dissertation investigated the notions of identity and displacement as experienced by young native Maghrébins living in France, through films of the Beur road movie genre.
I qualified as a Languages teacher with a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Oxford in 2019. My research investigated creativity in the classroom, from both teaching and learning perspectives.
A scholarship from the Helga Todd Foundation took me to India as a volunteer in a charity run school, for two months following my PGCE. We worked with the school and local teachers to learn and to share our different methods of teaching. Our workshop on Creative teaching inspired fresh and creative approaches to educate students living below the poverty line in underfunded schools.
I continued exploring the path of Yoga and have 500 hours certification accredited by the Yoga Alliance.
I dedicate most of my free time to my writing projects, having recently been published in Acumen Poetry and Literary Journal.
Current Projects
- My debut fantasy fiction novel is complete and in the editing stages. I am looking for a literary agent for ‘Zigub of the Shadow World’. Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Keep well and be safe!
