I’m a Junior Web Developer with a background in Head Office Recruitment, Human Resources and Learning & Development. Most recently working as Digital Recruiter for TOPSHOP TOPMAN, I found myself fascinated by how our e-commerce platform worked and the intricacies of the digital world. I was inspired to dive feet first into a career in web development and joined the immersive course at General Assembly. This has given me the opportunity to work across full stack technologies, alongside broader web theory and agile working methodologies resulting in several end-to-end projects. As part of the wider Digital team I am responsible for developing and designing web assets and experiences across campaigns, social media, features, microsite and product pages. Key Responsibilities Include… - Design and build digital assets and content - Examine user journey in collaboration with the wider team - Contribute to plan and delivery of campaigns - Ensure assets are reflective of updated design, fashion and retail trends alongside brand guidelines and tone of voice.
Part of the Head Office Recruitment Team, initially with accountability for all graduate roles and - following promotion - ownership of mid-senior digital, marketing and design roles. I also maintained my role as the social media and employee brand engagement representative on the team. Furthermore I managed the TOSHOP TOPMAN careers website and LinkedIn page, with creation of new pages and updates using a CMS. Key achievements include: - Over 150+ successful hires across areas of the business; - Driving the content plan, tone of voice and attraction strategy across LinkedIn, increasing our followers from 44,000 from April 2014 to 120,000 - July 2016; Creation and direction of a new graduates page on the TOPSHOP - TOPMAN careers site, including all written content, visuals and videos; Development of third party supplier relationships to increase social engagement through: Hootesuit, LinkedIn, Business of Fashion, Drapers - and Instagram/Snapchat; Worked with the Talent Manager to drive a highly-regarded talent programme.
An intensive three month full-time programme, teaching the fundamentals of Web Development through practical application delivered by industry experts. Throughout the course, we have built on working practises around TDD, daily standup, pair programming and presenting code to ensure real-world application. The course has focused on the output of several projects both individual and team-led.
