I just finished studying BA (hons) Fashion Design at the University of East London. I specialised in my final year into 3D pleating for my final project, after discovering it while on placement. After working with these processes in industry I wanted to develop them so I could do it from the studio. So I began to plan and make my own pleat patterns by hand as well as my own steam box. My creative process is very adaptive to the environment I am working in, I love being 3D based with draping while also designing on computer and with CAD’s.

- Whalers in South GeorgiaLauren Broome specialises in 3D pleating in her garments. The 3D pleats are at the core of her design aesthetic and come to life most strongly when light bounces around its unique angles.
