Lauren Alyce Thom is an Australian born London based photographer. Lauren has worked professionally in the fashion and commercial photography industry for over five years. Lauren has been working an managing e-commerce studios for over two years and has specialised in the curve fashion industry. Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts Photography from RMIT University and her honours in media and communications where she wrote a Thesis titled “How Can Creative Practitioners Collaborate to Subvert Dominant Representations of Women in the Fashion Industry?"
Lauren comes experience as not only a photographer but as a booker and manager in the modelling industry.
Lauren has been passionate about photography since a very young age and has worked in many fields including e-commerce, product, editorial, wedding/event photography and fine arts.

Taking Shape is a global leader in plus-size clothing with stores in Australia and New Zealand. For over 30 years, Taking Shape has been a cornerstone brand for curvy women, specialising in fashion forward designer collections in sizes 12-24.

Photographer (content, campaigns, e-commerce)
Creating content for social media, print and online campaigns along with ecommerce photos to sell product
High Volume e-commerce (shooting 50-60 garments per day)
Studio Coordinator - I was hired to open the first inhouse studio that Taking Shape had opened. I had put into place shooting plans, scheduling and processing to handle the high volume of product that was to be shot. In this time we also launched a Menswear label that I also photographed

Videography (helped build fresh approach to how content videos were produced and presented online to social media)
Talent Scouting (sourcing talent from Instagram and from Taking Shape stores as well as booking models from modeling agencies.
Creating concepts for Taking Shape lookbooks, social media and visual merchandising displays, building sourcing propping and lighting accordingly.
Strong relationships with Models, HMUA & Stylists
As the photographer at Taking Shape it was integral to my role to have strong relationships with all parties involved in the creative process.

Scouting/Recruitment/Training New Faces
In this role I had to scout talent, held modeling workshops showing how new faced models how to walk, created and designed portfolios and educated models and parents about the industry.
