About me
I have ten years of broadcast tech experience both leading and supporting camera teams on numerous natural history, travel and adventure, as well as interview, studio, and recon based programs all around the world. I was an original pioneer in the drone cinematography movement and was ahead of the curve building my own professional grade camera drones from as early as 2013. Since then I have expanded into DOP work, offline editing and technical coordinating. My reputation for going above and beyond in extremely challenging and uncomfortable environments has made me the preferred choice for shoots to some of the farthest corners of the world. I have a breadth of experience on obs doc, natural history, fixed rig and scripted shows. I regularly shoot principal camera, both as a single operator, and as the head of multi camera teams. I’m a very experienced and confident drone operator, lighting camera, underwater housing, and minicam operator. I am the go-to person to advise productions on the latest camera tech and suggest the best kit available to achieve the directors vision. I have a great passion for building things, and am never happier than when i’m in the workshop designing and building new systems. If there is nothing commercial available that will achieve the desired shot, I will make it myself, whether it be camera mounts on the wing of an eagle, drones that film underwater or micro 360° FPV rigs. My current role at Icon Films as Technical Production Coordinator sees me managing the camera department to oversee the preparation, booking, and maintenance of camera kit, and attending trade shows and liaising with specialist camera rental and sale companies. I work extensively on all areas of the production process from development, all the way through to offline editing and post production. I’m first aid and remote trauma trained and when not at work, I pursue my passion for the natural world through alpine mountaineering, sailing, paragliding and kitesurfing.
