Key responsibilities and achievements Creative Director of Sky’s Entertainment Channels, Sky 1, Atlantic, Living, Arts, all Sky Movies Channels and Sky’s Freeview Channels Pick and Challenge, creatively managing one of the biggest internal Creative teams in Europe. Responsible for Creative development of all of these Channels, managing the many Brands and countless On Air / Off Air campaigns on these Channels. Countless multi million pound Campaigns working incredibly tightly with the various Marketing, PR, Digital teams within Sky to ensure continuity across the board. Countless show launches and returning series campaigns, from Game of Thrones Season 4 ( currently 63% up on series 3 ), True Detective, 24, Young Doctors Notebook, Sky Movies Bond launch and Sky Original Commissions like Moone Boy, Mr Sloane, The Tunnel, Penny Dreadful campaigns. Oversee Continuity and Navigation for these channels as well as managing a Creative team of over 50 staff. Responsible for managing internal relations with Marketing, PR, Digital, Commissioning and many external relations with studios especially HBO which is critical to Atlantic. Control of On Air budgets across these Channels, working within the strict financial guidelines in play at Sky. Continually inspire the internal Creative teams by organising countless inspirational talks from Oscar winning editors to photographers etc, really important to keep such a large team refreshed and focused upon what is happening around them. Maintain Sky relations with external Creative agencies who work alongside Sky Creative, as well as maintaining relations with varied Sky talent from Naomi Campbell to Melvyn Bragg when it comes to shooting campaigns. Oversaw two large internal reviews and restructures of the Creative departments at Sky, delivering operational savings and ensuring no drop in Creative quality.
Key responsibilities and achievements Full control of a multi-million pound On Air budgets for UK channels FX UK, NGC and Nat Geo Wild. Responsible for Creative strategies of these channels. Staff has now doubled, so management of a team of twenty plus staff including Audio, Gfx, Continuity and all areas of On Air. Developed, implemented and evaluated award winning On Air Campaigns for channel ratings successes. These include Falling Skies, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Dexter, NCIS, Dog Whisperer, Sea Patrol, Great Migrations and Air Crash Investigation. Oversee and implement all style guides for all channels worked on and ensure these are observed. Have refreshed NGC and Nat Geo Wild packages using internal / external teams. NGC is in over 173 countries globally, the UK continues to be the lead player with our Creative being used in the majority of these regions, great relations with the other hubs across Europe who rely upon us. Shot first ever Channel Identity package in Zero Gravity, a ground breaking project that secured great press for Fox. As well as countless other shoots with A list talent in the US and UK. Oversaw the EPG move for FX, brand new On Air package created and used across Europe. Continue to bring the Channels in under budget but still achieve ratings targets set by the hierarchy. 9/11 Campaign for NGC used by the US Channel across the States, a massive achievement for us here in the UK. Continue to work with some of the biggest Ad Sales agencies, including shooting idents for Joop on FX. Award success includes a record amount of Promax Golds at the UK Promax 2011 awards, coming 2nd to Red Bee and beating Channel 4, an amazing result for a Creative Department with such little resource. Several Kinsale Shark awards and Promax Europe / Promax World awards as well. Successes include a 30% increase in FX ratings and NGC obtaining the position of 2nd highest rated factual channel for 2010. Both Falling Skies and The Walking Dead were the first shows to get over a million viewers for FX. Awards for FX also include Broadcast Digital Channel of the Year and Broadcast Entertainment Channel of the Year.
Key responsibilities and achievements Set the Creative strategy for the UK Channels and 17 European regions. Launched National Geographic Wild in the UK, oversaw marketing and on air campaigns to launch the Channel and implemented all working practices, managing to hit the aggressive ratings target set and continues to do so. Full control of budgets and team, objectives and strategies for everyone in the department. Worked closely with our European hubs as the UK team were responsible for creating Promos for 17 different regions, manage the process of these regions receiving what they need. Constant visits to the NGC Society in Washington to work with the US On Air team. Oversee large Ad Sales / affiliate relations, including shoots in New York for IBM and Africa for Toyota. Channel wins 2007 Broadcast Factual Channel of the Year and cleans up at the European Promax awards with our Incredible Human Machine campaign. When I started at NGC the Channel ranked 4th highest Factual Channel, it is now 2nd.
Key responsibilities and achievements Upon returning from Australia I was promoted to the Senior Producer Role at the Channel. Worked closely with the CD in setting Creative strategy. Management of team for the first time, 6 direct reports. Won several Promax awards at the Promax World and Promax UK awards.
Key responsibilities and achievements Was sent on a Creative sabbatical to the Australian NGC in Sydney to help with a re-launch of the Channel. Was a key Creative player in the re-launch campaign including extensive press, TV, radio, online and outdoor advertising, all producing the desired ratings target for the re-launch. Won an Australian Promax Gold for Best Campaign for The Mummy Roadshow. Helped set up and implement the Creative strategy of the Channel and set up working relations with the UK and other European NGC promo hubs.
