Blessings! My name is Leia and I’m a black creative based in London. I exist in multiple different realms including but not exclusive to: - Performing (actor/spoken word) - Video Editing And the industry I am most known for- natural Hairstyling (For editorial shoots, film, TV and more) You can find may Hair art here (https://www.instagram.com/styledbywasike/) I love to challenge and break boundaries with new thoughts and ideas in any way possible. My work is almost always experimental and I will only collaborate with other open minded people!

  • TATE COLLECTIVE DOCUMENTARY
    TATE COLLECTIVE DOCUMENTARYIn March, I devised a shoot with some of my favourite creators for Tate Collective's Women's month. This short film explains the thought process behind the choices I made. I'm really proud of this project and I can say it was the turning point of me defining myself as an artist. This was my first time experimenting with shape and hair structures and paired with minimalistic sleek ponytail, I'm very proud of the end result. Not to mention the wonderful work of Betty and Whitney on makeup and styling! Everything came together beautifully.

    "It's more than just a trend"Out of pure anger and disappointment of the recent photos and videos being shared of many black American citizens, I decided to take some pictures aiming to embody the fury of many around the world. The Black lives matter organisation has been around since 2015/2016 however ever couple of years, there is a spike of outrage - encouraging hardcore activism amongst many. I believe that this round, it shouldn't just be a spike but a turning point in the fight for justice.
