Leo Leonkeva is an illustrator with a background in fine art and design, born in Bulgaria and currently based in London, UK. Their work explores the multifaceted existence of humans through mixed media. Leo is fascinated by everyday, small things that are often forgotten, as well as the vast expanse of the human psyche. Visually, their work often features bodies, delving into topics of gender, body positivity and self-expression. This extends into their interest in character design. Leo's illustrations generally have fine lineart, heavy uses of the colour black and textures.
Leo embraces experimentation and is always looking to expand their skill set in new areas. They approach each project with a clean slate, adjusting their creative process to the client’s needs. Leo is most excited by briefs that include multiple outcomes across print, screen and anything in between. They have honest conversations and connect with clients on a personal level in order to deliver impactful artwork, that delves deeper into the topic at hand. Leo Leonkeva hopes to foster clients, who understand the importance of openly taking about issues that might be considered taboo, like sexuality or mental health, and actively try to positively contribute to social issues.
