Leon Mayne is an award-winning scriptwriter and producer. In 2015 he was named future rising star in power list magazine’s ‘Britain’s Most Influential People of African & African Caribbean Heritage’ He is Co-Founder of the BWNG Production & Distribution group, a collective dedicated to showcasing the culturally diverse range of talent and narratives in modern day Britain. TV/Digital series he has written and/or produced include multi-award winning Brothers With No Game, Raindance Festival Pilot Finalist ‘A Day In The Life Of Daddy’, Screen Nation Award cast winning ‘How Did We Get Here?’ and globally distributed ‘So He Says’. As Creative Director I work in the creative conception and strategy development of the company’s productions. I script, produce and edit a selection of series content whilst managing the creative team and collaborative process with media clients. My primary focus is to edutain a wide demographic with pithy, relevant and quality content.
At Makers my role included: - Creating new concepts for digital programming and making visual treatments - Pre-Production: Script Editing, Scheduling, Cast & Crew management - Production: Assistant and or co-ordinator on set
At MTA productions my role was to edit 15 episodes from Season 2 of their family friendly sitcom 'The T-Boy Show' which would be airing on video on demand platform. I used Final Cut Pro to edit the series
As a screenwriter trying to get projects on to Television, I worked with Hoot Comedy's main producer to come up with concepts via treatments, as well as writing pilots for pitches.
BBC Director General Tony Hall and Idris Elba announced a list of emerging talent in different fields of broadcast. I was named amongst the producers, for my work with BWNG Ltd which included series that have deals with London Live, TRACE and multiple international VOD platforms.
