About me
I’m Liam Tooher. Illustrator and Designer currently based in Nottingham, UK. My works heavily revolves around the world we live in and how politics, history and society shape it. I try to reflect these interests in all my work if possible as I believe having a understanding of these themes will give everyone a better understand of our planet. This can be seen from the Batsford Winning 2021 Illustration winning project, Our Planet which aimed to highlight the issues of our planet today to Belarus Life a protest zine aimed at inspiring the people of Belarus against their corrupt dictator Lukashenko.
Projects
  • Batsford Illustration Winner 2021 - Happy days.
Batsford Illustration Winner 2021 - Happy days.Happy days ? was a response to the Batford Illustration Competetion in which I had to create a piece of art to the phrase Our Planet. The repsonse was to create a series of illustrations that depict the ironies and realities of our planet based on our current lifestyles in the west. From contributing to deforestation, to ignoring refugee crisis. It was a response to many issues not just one. The project came first place for the BATSFORD prize in illustration 2021.
  • Manifest Destiny
Manifest DestinyManifest Destinys aim was to question the notion of blind patriotism within countries, most notably the United States. The brief was to create a peice of work that reflects the theme of great explorers. I wanted to surbvert those expectations by creating a novel that at first seems like a celebration of the American exploration of the wild west that slowly descends into something more sinister.
  • Open House Festival 2022
Open House Festival 2022This poster was designed in response to the open house festival brief to create a poster that captures the essense of neighbourhood and community. I wanted to show the variation in architecture in London as well as making the humans look bigger to show people are what make communities not just buildings. Winning the competition means the poster has featured in 30 tube stations across London.
