Hi, I'm Lianne. I help companies deliver empowering experiences that bridge the gap between people and product.
My 3+ years of professional experience varies among research, branding, and UX/UI design for web & mobile. I have been part of smaller studios, in-house design teams and international design agencies, and feel most at home exploring the magical space between user experience and technology.
Projects
- Somnox Sleep Robot appIf ever something could be described as oddly comforting, it's the Somnox Sleep Robot—a bean-shaped cuddly robot designed to be spooned while you sleep. For Somnox, I designed the application that comes with the robot, including a collection of soothing sounds and breathing exercises. Helping your body to synchronise to a slow, steady breathing rhythm that sends you off with ease.
- Kipkep foldable baby bagChanging your baby can be quite a hassle when on the go. The Napper bag I designed for Kipkep solves this problem by combining a bag and a changing mat. By easily unfolding the outer layer of the bag there is always a soft surface for your baby to lay on. Consumers can purchase the Napper bag online and in more than 150 selected stores all over Europe. The design was awarded the Baby Innovation Award in 2018.
- BMW Personal AssistantVoice interaction is slowly making its debut in the automotive industry as it helps minimise the drivers ‘eyes-off-the-road’ time. With the TU Delft, I helped BMW explore this topic and conducted the user research for their personal assistant. An intelligent, digital character that responds to the prompt “Hey BMW”.
- Taste the FutureWe had bugs for dinner! Taste the Future is the first of a series of talks organised by the KIDS design agency in Berlin to foster learning, inspiration, and curiosity by exploring the future of a particular industry. During the Taste the Future event, one hundred big thinkers came together to taste a radically alternative food source and to discuss the future of what we eat and how it’s made.

Product design, 2019Red Dot Design Award
With Somnox, we won the prestigious Red Dot Design award in July 2019, in the category Best Product Design. According to the jury, our Sleep Robot helps people calm down by adapting to a slow breathing rhythm. With additional soothing sounds and a soft and huggable shape, 'Somnox' creates a cosy feel-good atmosphere in which the user is addressed at various levels and can look forward to a calm and restful night.B
