- Hong Kong food culture Graphic designFood is a large part of Chinese culture and family life it features in daily life in the form of simple dishes widely available and also as part of large and elaborate celebratory feasts. I grew up in Hong Kong and moved to the UK in 2019 and I have brought my culture here with me. I would like to show people a little of my culture through Cantonese phrases and their English translations combined with fun and accessible graphics. I hope to promote my culture as well as pass it on to British born
- Cantonese PhrasesAs a native Cantonese speaker, I found some of the phrases used in the language and everyday life fascinating. It is hard to directly translate these into English phrases, that is what makes every language unique and charming. I would like to introduce to people and most importantly to pass on to the next generation who live in foreign countries. Are you ready to learn a new language? I have created Print, Poster and Coaster for this project.
- Recycled Paper ProjectTo give back to our wonderful planet that we call home I will be donating 10% of each sale from the 'Recycled Ga Yau collection' to www.coolearth.org. (Since 2007 Cool Earth has been working with rainforest communities utilising indigenous knowledge to protect our vital rainforests, the 'lungs of our planet'.) Ga Yau and Yung Gam are phrases meant to give encouragement. During this pandemic, many of us experienced separation, loneliness, depression, uncertainty and more... I have created this

Béi (畀) pinyin in Cantonese, meaning “to give”.
Founder Lily P. originally from Hong Kong, launched the brand in 2017 and has been based in London permanently since 2019.
She produces original prints and designs celebrating and exploring her Cantonese background. There is a focus on things unique to Hong Kong as well as references to aesthetics within wider Chinese and Asian culture.
Lily produces both bold graphic digital designs and unique handmade linocut prints.
The aim of Béi is to share Chinese culture and ideas through unique visual interpretations.
