At Based Upon I work as a Designer and furniture maker. Based Upon specialises in bespoke, high-end furniture and art/interior design pieces. I design and craft new surfaces and textures for these works using a broad range of art materials and techniques. In the role craft-leader I am required to oversee the time scheduling and process of fabrication for the works. I also manage other craft people working on these projects.

I began worked for Elisabeth Thomson as an art technician on her works for Invitation to Openness—Substantive and Transitive States, at the Tauranga Art Gallery. Then we leapt headfirst into Elizabeth’s next show at the Sydney Art Fair. In my role with Elizabeth I worked overseeing and engaging in production, handling and preparing of artwork for display. I have been working with a team of others and have naturally fallen into a leadership role.
