I was elected as the Head of Photography at HARD Magazine (fashion, arts and culture magazine) for around 2 and a half years during my time at the University of York. Working at HARD gave me first hand experience in coordinating and organising my own photoshoots- these were often based around my own concepts and ideas. I also gained experience in direction, as the models featured usually had little to no experience in modelling. Further, I engaged a lot with styling for the models- often bringing my own garments with me to shoots in order to elevate the overall look of an outfit. During my time at HARD, I was successful in having my images displayed in three front covers out of the four issues that I had worked on.

I was awarded this for my contribution in Photography for HARD magazine. My work was described as visually challenging and original by a panel of judges, and was thus credited for its uniqueness and the role it had to play in pushing the creative boundaries of the York Media scene.
