  • AfroShoot will be a platform to help photographers from Africa & African decent to promote their vision & story from Africa & the world. It will comprise two parts: online presence (with the website & social media) giving services for the photographers; physical presence (with the events such as workshops, exhibition, conferences, talks, networking events, seminars). AfroShoot is at its second stage which is the creation of the website and team building management. Funded by O2 Think Big & SOAS Student Enterprise through the IGNITE Competition. AfroShoot is an innovation platform with the mission to celebrate the work of photographers from Africa and African descent through synergy in order to push forward an Afrikan vision of the world through the lens to the mainstream - Securing funding from O2 Think Big with £300 & £2500 grants; Ignite SOAS Competition with £500 grant; Crowdfunding on Hubbub £400 - Managing the creation content of the website with Chloe Maillot who created and designed everything, including the logo. - Creation of Social Media & managing - made important connections with influencers, media and started collaboration from abroad & in London thanks to the Social Media - Contact & communication with the artists, making of agreements for exhibitions - Inventories & Price lists of selected artworks - Curation of first exhibition "Bridged Narratives" for the launch of AfroShoot - Communication with galleries and creative agencies both in London / worldwide - Public Relation tasks (Press Release, communication, social media, connecting with influencers) - Budgeting / Finance - how to work with a strict budget requirements - Pitching for AfroShoot - 60sec and 3min pitch in front of audience & pitching to various organisations in order to engage and collaborate in the future. - Idea Generation for more flow and creativity - Market Research & targeting of different audiences with different purposes - Task Management & Team Work through Bitrix24 - Awards won for AfroShoot: *Student project of the year by SOAS Student Enterprise *Best digital project by O2 Think Big - Established partnerships: *Centre for African Studies *LeNoir Foundation - Funded by: *SOAS Ignite Competition *O2 Think Big

  • Organization of a project that aimed at helping children with difficulties as well as reviving art and culture in an African village. The project was organized in Lougsi, a Mossi village from Burkina Faso (West Africa). I carried out the work as part of the local charity “Cri d’Enfant, Cri de Coeur” from fundraising for the project, organizing the construction of the headquarters for a cultural center with volunteers from the village & photography exhibitions to show the project and a positive representation of Africa.

    Make A Difference Awards - Volunteer of the Year

    • The Volunteer of the Year was Lisa Aissaoui (depicted right). Lisa started a project in Burkina Faso for a local charity which helps children out of school to focus on cultural arts. She fundraised to build the headquarters of the charity, and put together a photography project to present a positive image of Africa which has since been exhibited in France and SOAS. She has also worked on a cultural road-trip to Kosovo,
