Childrenswear Designer
Travis Designs is a high quality children’s clothing design company in Hertfordshire specialising in dress-up clothing. They have two in house labels: Dress Up By Design, a children’s dress up brand and Mitty James, a children’s beachwear brand. While Disney Stores and Disney Parks across the world are the main clients, I also designed for many leading high street retailers including signature ranges.
I progressed quickly from starting in a junior role five years ago, to having joint accounts:
• Disney Licenced Baby Costumes, Disney Stores UK, Disney Hong Kong Parks, Disney Shanghai Park, Disneyland Paris, Sophie la girafe, Spot, TK Maxx and John Lewis.
And my own accounts:
• Disney Super Deluxe for Harrods Boutique, Disney Licenced Children’s Swimwear, Disney America, International Dance Supplies, Mitty James, My London Girl, Historic Royal Palaces, Harrods Signature Swim, NEXT, Hamleys, Gem Fairies, Surfdome and Little White Company.
• I directed and coordinated the team of seamstresses, grader, pattern cutter and design assistant daily to meet deadlines for an assortment of accounts.
• International Dance Supplies is the UK's largest wholesale dancewear supplier. Many of my designs for IDS are best sellers and my May Fair Maiden design holds front page in this season's catalogue and remains an IDS firm favourite. My Rainbow Bright Tutu, proved to be the best seller and was re-ordered four times within the space of eight months.
• My idea for full length (to cuffs and ankles) UV suits for the Arabian market was presented to Atlantis Palm and put into play, proving popular amongst their local clientele.
• I have been significantly involved with the designing and production process of many Disney costumes for Disney Parks and Stores around the world, most recently the Frozen franchise ranging from licenced babywear to Super Deluxe costumes for the highest cost bracket in the Harrods Disney Boutique.
• Designs showcased at many international tradeshows and events including Bubble London, Premier Kids, Spring Fair NEC, Autumn Fair NEC, Toy Fair Olympia, Nuremberg Germany, Disney, Harrods and International Dance Studios. My team won three awards within the last year: Progressive Pre-School, Best Stand Design out of hundreds at Spring Fair and Disney’s Best New Licenced Products.
