I am a very enthusiastic MSc Product Design graduate (University of Strathclyde). I was born and raised in Italy, but after graduating from high school I decided to move to the UK to continue my studies. During my time in Glasgow, I had the chance to take part in many enriching opportunities that really helped me become a more thoughtful and experienced person, and hopefully a better designer. Despite being a very down-to-earth person, I really enjoy everything that is unexpected and challenging, especially when it comes to me in the shape of a new design brief. What I think is the main reason why I am so passionate about Product and Industrial Design is the opportunity I have to transform a problem into a solution that can benefit others.Locked Pro Plan feature
Working as a spotter for an online travel guide has been a very creative and stimulating way of improving my time-management and written communication skills: my role requires a constant contribution in the form of brief reviews of places of interests within the city of Glasgow, which are constantly updated in order to guarantee the best travel experience to every Spotted by Locals user.
At Linkinterni S.r.l. I worked in collaboration with Mr. Andrea Zen, architect and partner of the firm, on the improvement of an already existing design of a convertible armchair. My mansions included the evaluation of material suppliers, the design of the armchair’s outer shell, its aesthetic appearance and the first rendering stage of the CAD model. Working closely with a company that prides itself in delivering an all-inclusive service to the clients increased my ability to deal with tight time constraints and broadened my knowledge of interior and product design.
Abafoods S.r.l. is an established company with an advanced manufacturing plant in Veneto, Italy, specialised in the production of vegetal soft drinks and organic beverages. My placement was focused on learning the principles of the production line and the sales department in order to manage the reception and ensure that loading and unloading carriers left the premises with the complete paperwork. This experience gave me a good insight on the business operations and strongly enhanced my organisation skills. Having a direct contact with both Italian and international clients also gave me the opportunity to speak my native language and practice English and Spanish during the summer.
During my experience with Hiire, an IT Technology start-up that had just launched its new employment app, I had the opportunity to refine both my communication and my presentation skills: successfully pitching the features of the product to possible users enhanced my confidence and taught me a lot about how to approach clients effectively.
