Based in London and originally from Dundee, I am a graphic designer, photographer, and writer who specialises in areas across the music industry.
I currently operate freelance, and across my own projects; both of which being Love Letters Zine and Never Heard Of Ya.
NHOY:
Never Heard Of Ya is a London-based promotions company ran by myself and Harley Cassidy, two kindred spirits united by a desire to bolster the underground. Initially a DJ duo, we decided to breach into the world of live music last year with our first gig taking place on the sweatiest day of 2019, in a cramped record store, with the ever theatrical Walt Disco performing a stripped back set. Fast forward to present day and we have established ourselves as tastemakers in London and beyond, bringing exciting artists from around the UK to the capital. These have been some of the nation’s most promising new talents with the likes of Mellah, Hotel Lux, Meggie Brown, Julia Bardo, Gently Tender and more playing our shows.
We also host a weekly radio show on Boogaloo which serves as an extension of our ethos, where no genre is sidelined. Featuring a mass of indie, dance, punk, psychedelia, rap and every other traverse of sound, it’s a guaranteed two hours of thrilling discovery.
I co-curate lineups, co-present the radio show, take photos of bands, and do all the graphic design for Never Heard Of Ya which you can see on our Instagram @weneverheardofya.
Love Letters Zine:
Love Letters is an annual independent publication dedicated to women and non-binary people in music. Love Letters exists to celebrate the people in music who’ve inspired and impacted our own lives and work through the medium of a love letter and is greatly influenced by original DIY fanzines.
We also aim to create a space for important conversations in music, covering topics such as representation, diversity, and working within the industry. To date we’ve featured artists such as Girlpool, Nilüfer Yanya, Julia Jacklin, Arlo Parks, Sinead O’Brien, Hinds, SOAK, and lots more.
