I want to offer my skills to the creation of convincing stories.
Being brought up in 5 different countries provoked a certain inclination and specific interest to culture and its different aspects. How the psychology and history affects cultural expression always intrigued me. Being exposed to quite an array of cultures I have developed an interest for the Arts and its processes quite early on.
I started my studies at the Camberwell College of Arts where I specialised in Fine Art and Conceptual Drawing. All the while knowing I wanted to work in film and theatre, studying fine art and learning its processes gave me, I believe, a particular way of approaching design.
It taught me how to analyse and use everything around me.
Teamwork is essential and fascinating to me because of the surprises that can occur and the endless possibilities that can be found. That is why after my time in CCA I completed a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Design at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts), specialising in set design and scenic art.
Projects
- Things LostIn this devised play the immersive design aims to physicalise time passing, with actors moving through the space covered in chalk and leaving their marks, they enumerate short stories of loss and absence. All the costumes were made with organza to play with transparency and expressing the 'memory' of the garment. Taking inspiration from the Do-Ho-Suh installations.
- Zones d'OmbresPoetic Concert performed this year by Christophe Tostain, Lotus Choffel and Alexandre Simoni at the Festival OFF Avignon from the 7th to 29th of July. Part of the diptych Dérives this first part combines the different aspects of orality. Alternating between slam, singing and rap, the trio makes us discover the story of an individual. As the Ulysses of modern times, he decides to leave the deep rurality in which he was born to loose himself body and soul to the violent urbanity of the MEGAVILLE.
