Work history
    Publishing Manager
    Editing, project-managing and supervising art publications from initial proposal to launch, co-ordinating productions, content selection and development editing. Compiling and managing all budgets, schedules, fundraising and maintaining relationships with important stakeholders, co-publishers, authors, artists and commercial galleries. Key responsibilities include: - Managing a team of two people and overseeing freelance project-managers, editors, copyeditors, proofreaders and translators - Supervising publications from initial proposal to launch, liaising with artists, writers, designers, image reproduction houses and printers at every stage - Development of the publication design and visual identity with designer and partners - Balancing the maintenance of an editorial tone in line with our house style whilst keeping the author’s voice and allowing each publication to be unique to each project - Overseeing an editorial voice across the Ridinghouse website, email-outs and social media posts, evaluating user behaviour and adapting our content and voice as appropriate - Seeking out and commissioning new writers, editors and future publications - Compiling and managing often fluctuating budgets, adapting as needed to ensure the best possible production within a time-scale - Overseeing schedules, often to a tight deadline to ensure delivery for exhibition openings - Maintaining important relationships with key stake holders, co-publishers, artists and editors - Editing and proofreading texts and interviews; liaising with authors and artists for approval to ensure that all parties are in agreement - Responsibility for clearing copyright for all third-party material
