About me
I am a digital art director and UI/UX/interaction designer based in London, UK. Although Germany is where I’m from, I have called London my home since 1996. Here, I studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and met a great number of amazing people. In the past 15+ years, I have worked in many roles, from classic graphic design, illustration and animation to front-end development, UI/UX and interaction design, and art direction for websites, apps, exhibitions, museums, VR and more. I feel most comfortable where design and development meet and I am always happy to find a connection between the physical and the digital world. My main focus is on interaction, interfaces and visuals. Making interactive ideas work well is what makes me tick. Working in a team to exchange skills and ideas is essential to the way I work. Together we are better. Personally, I am passionate about papercraft such as Origami and Kirigami. This has often transferred into my work through book and magazines covers, feature and poster illustrations and animations. Another interest of mine is woodwork. I concluded an apprenticeship as a carpenter and still practice woodturning and various other related activities. Design, art and craft continuously feed my mind. I love to go to museums and exhibitions and to work on my own projects in my free time, with friends, for charity or just for fun.
