I am currently a final year student studying Fashion Textile Design BA (Hons) at De Montfort University. My speciality is in printed textiles; both screen-printing and digitally printed textiles, often combining the two practices together in my work.

  ALL THAT GLITTERSThis project explores the idea of changing states and of covering an object to change its properties to give a fake image, and then destroying that image. I have explored this idea by freezing flowers in water and then smashing them. All that glitters is not gold.
• IMAGINE A RAINFORESTThis project explores the idea of being able to see visions of a rainforest but knowing it's not real. This is to symbolise that if we continue to do nothing about the destruction of the rainforest then all we'll have left are visions/memories of it.

One of my main duties was to welcome the customers to the course and to book timeslots for them to go on the course. Through this I have gained experience with interacting with the public whilst ensuring that everyone has the most enjoyable time possible. As well as gaining till and money handling experience at the same time. I also enhanced my leadership skills as one of my duties was to train the customers and deliver the safety briefing to them as well as demonstrating how to safely go around the course attaching themselves as they go. I also had to ensure that the customers go around the main course safely which has improved my eye for detail as you have to constantly be looking around to make sure the customers are safe.

I specialised in printed textiles for fashion, however I have also gained knowledge and understanding of using domestic and dubied knitting machines throughout the course as well as embroidery. I have also developed my CAD skills, specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. The course also focused on design development and contextual relevance along with improving written and verbal communication skills.
