- London, United KingdomFull Time
My role within the UK government’s largest public services department involved social media management, and coordination of publishing press releases, announcements and Ministerial speeches to the Government website, GOV.UK. I utilised my digital communications experience to maximise engagement with vital messaging for the public. I worked closely with internal and external stakeholders within the Department and across Government to produce digital communications, including Press Office, Campaigns, External Relations, Operations, and Ministerial offices. I line managed one member of staff, and deputised on an ad-hoc basis for the Senior Social Media Manager.
My duties included copywriting and publishing digital content across the DWP Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube channels. I handled campaign evaluations and analysis, and campaigns I managed digital communications for include the EU Transition (Brexit), Labour Market Statistics, the Kickstart Scheme, Universal Credit, Access to Work, and Coronavirus. Through using my skills, I maximised public awareness of the Departmental priorities, including Welfare, Disability, Pensions, External Affairs, and Ministerial business. My role involved voiceovers, photography, content creation and editing using Adobe Photoshop, and gathering content on visits for Ministers and Secretaries of State.
