I'm a versatile copywriter with over 10 years' experience in publishing and marketing. In addition to roles in magazine editing and social media management, I have written extensively for organisations including The Folio Society, Google, Microsoft and UKTI.
I led the copywriting team at The Folio Society, producing a wide range of copy to promote its illustrated books. This ranged from long copy dedicated to individual titles, to text for direct marketing campaigns, catalogues, ads, flyers and newsletters. I also wrote and built customer emails, and helped manage proofreading and editing requirements across the department. I established the company's presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, and managed and implemented its social media strategy.
Senior writer and line manager, responsible for producing case studies, contributed articles, website copy and more for clients including Google, Dell, Microsoft and UKTI. I co-wrote a style guide for Dell which became the standard for all communications nationwide, and helped to build, manage and train a network of freelance interviewers and translators.
This role involved managing editorial and production processes for a quarterly biotech magazine, European Biopharmaceutical Review. I commissioned articles from academics and industry experts, and wrote supplementary copy such as introductions, contents and the editor's letter, organised supply of illustrations, flatplanned the magazine and oversaw quality control for all copy. I also worked closely with external advertisers and the in-house sales team.
